    • Switch roles to elimate the title of "helper"
  • 2. Station Teaching

    • Both teachers are actively teaching
    • Reduces student to teacher ratio concern
    • The amount of noise and movement can be a problem for some students
    • Teachers don't both have to be experts on a topic
    • Cannot be ordered content
    • Can provide a more indepth understanding for students
  • 3. Parallel Teaching

    Application...
    • Lowers the student to teacher ratio
    • Created using heterogenious groups (mixed)
    • Each teacher does not work with all students, just part of the class... Remember to mix up groups!
    • Both teacher need to be very comfortable with content as they both will be teaching it
    • Useful for test reviews to increase the opportunity for students to respond
    • Great for drilling information
    • Useful for project management
    • Provides studnets more opportunity to engage in discussion
  • 4. Alternative Teaching

    • Instruction in each group is different
    • Useful for two tier instruction
    • Each teacher has responsibility for smaller group
    • Pre-teaching/Re-teaching
    • Practing and not moving ahead
    • Enrichment and more guided practice
  • 5. Teaming

    Named favorite by teachers... Most collaboritve

    Application...
    • Both teachers responsible for lesson taught
    • Must trust other teacher
    • Need to establish equal status
    • Can be very entertaining for students
    • More collaboration
    • * Two heads are better than one!
  • 6. One Teach, One Assist

    Use this as a last resort

    Application...
    • Use when one not enought time to plan
    • When learners can be deppendent on assistance
    • Useful when teacher has specific expertise
    • Also useful for monitoring
